Wood
The wood used is recycled hemlock, Douglas fir, and yellow pine. The thick antique wood, which is 29cm to 35cm wide and 9cm to 12 cm thick, is a valuable material that is almost impossible to obtain in Japan today. The wood has been tested by a chemical testing agency to see if it does not contain any harmful substances such as arsenic compounds, chromium compounds, copper compounds, creosote oil, chlordanes, etc.
Stone
All the stones used are old British natural stone "Stone" Windsor Stone Cots Plate, made in the UK
Brick
『Brick』Antique British wood, Birmingham orange
These are handmade antique bricks (estimated to be 150 years old); as such, there may be some variation in color and size. The wide range of color variations (red, pink, beige, white) is a characteristic of this brick, but on the other hand, it can also be a drawback, but it is proof that it is one of a kind.
Tile
Roman roof tiles from France
The inside of the copper molding around the edges is made from only the two ends of old tiles cut from Spain or France. As the latitude increases from North Africa to Spain and France, the roundness becomes larger and deeper. Terracotta is made by kneading local soil and firing it bisque (at an average temperature of 500 to 600 degrees) to acquire the color of the land, so in Spain, it is thin and whitish. At the same time, as the latitude increases, it becomes thicker and darker red. This antique tile is a rich, dark product from Burgundy.
Hand-painted logo tile on the side
The handmade tiles with the words TABLELANDSCAPE・MANembedded into the side are made by hand one by one, making them one-of-a-kind, including differences in the glaze.
Handle
The handle attached to the front of TABLELANDSCAPE・MAN, which can be said to be an eye-catcher, is handmade from 100% pure copper. Copper is extremely difficult to process compared to iron and other materials, and the piece is dotted with details of craftsmanship, such as fine hammered finishes created by hand.
Copper trim and roof tiles
The copper moldings, laid out around the stone and brick, vary in shape to represent the different themes of whiskey (Scotch, Japanese whiskey), bourbon whiskey, and tequila. The same goes for height, width, and length. The width of the wood is also essential, and in the case of wider pieces, some even have sliced old roofing tiles placed inside the copper molding.
Mortar and Stone
Surrounded by copper trim molding, the combination of mortar and natural stone evokes a rustic feel. The balance between the size of this natural stone and the stones and bricks in the background is very delicate; it doesn't look good if it's too big, too small, or there is too much of it. Also, if it's too tall, the eye will be drawn to that part, and the sense of depth will be lost. The mortar is scraped away to give it a more natural look.
Copper end plates on the back and side
The ends of the back and sides of the table that come into contact with the stone or brick are fitted with copper plates secured by copper nails. The specifications of this copper plate vary depending on the balance of the wood and the theme of the whiskey (Scotch, Japanese whiskey, Bourbon whiskey, or Tequila). They are also available with hand-stitched accents of leather or suede.
On the back, glass with the serial number and owner's name
The name of the owner who ordered a TABLELANDSCAPE・MANtable, the order date, the serial number, and the model name are engraved on a piece of glass measuring 70mm high x 70mm wide x 20mm thick and then set on the back. The bottom is printed with a picture of a glass filled with alcohol, just like the model name, with glass fitted on top, and the surroundings are shielded with copper. These notations will be added after the order is placed.
Wooden adjuster
The table is made from old wood, so it is not exactly level. There is some distortion and twisting.
To keep the table horizontal when it is placed, there are original octagonal wooden adjusters on each of the four corners of the back side, so you can adjust the height by turning them.
Wooden box
The table is presented in a flannel bag with the logo embroidered on it. It will also be shipped in a wooden box with the logo printed on it. The table is quite heavy and can be a hassle to move around on a daily basis, so we recommend using this flannel bag to protect the table when not in use. The wooden box is intended to prevent damage during shipping, but we cannot guarantee its strength, so please be careful when using it for storage.
